The remediation gap

A web estate no one can describe by hand

At enterprise scale, alt text stopped being a content task long ago. It's an operations problem that spans systems, teams and legal exposure.

Hundreds of thousands of images

Across brands, sub-sites, campaigns and archives built up over years, most with no alt text at all.

Every property on a different platform

WordPress on one brand, a headless build on another, a DAM feeding several. No single admin reaches all of them.

No clear owner

Alt text falls between content, web and accessibility teams, so it's nobody's job until an audit makes it everybody's.

The exposure is legal, not cosmetic

Accessibility litigation reaches large consumer brands first, and missing image descriptions are a routine finding.

how it works

Built to run at estate scale

Connect every property once, clear the backlog in the background, then govern how it runs from there.
Step 1 of 3

Connect every property

One account covers all your domains and brands, with credits pooled across the estate and no per-site fees.

Supports JPG, PNG, SVG, AVIF, and WebP image formats
AltTextLab integration options: CMS plugins, web snippet, browser extensions, no-code tools, and REST API connected to a central hub.

Step 2 of 3

Describe the whole estate

Run bulk generation across your whole media library. Every description is yours to review from the generation history.

Existing alt text is never overwritten unless you choose to
130+ languages and four writing styles, to match each brand
Custom keywords woven in where they fit
Step 3 of 3

Govern the estate as it grows

New images can be described automatically on upload or generated on demand, set per property along with its own spend cap, so cost stays predictable as the estate grows. Because the alt text lives in your own systems, it stays in place permanently, independent of your subscription.

WHY ALTTEXTLAB

Built to minimize what security has to review

The lowest-risk way to fix alt text is a tool that barely touches your data in the first place. AltTextLab reads an image, writes a description, and keeps nothing.

Built for procurement. A DPA, purchase orders and invoicing are available for enterprise agreements.

I tried a few others plugins before I found this one. The others were either too complicated or too expensive. This plugin was simple to use and install and worked immediately. The alt tags it generates are perfect. Very descriptive and accurate.

It actually understands what's in images and creates spot-on descriptions. No more guessing what to write. The Chrome extension is super handy and fits right into my workflow. It's been a huge time-saver for my blog and product pages.

I manage several client sites and this plugin saves me a lot of time. I install it, set it up once, and it works in the background. It’s part of my standard setup now.

I was able to generate alt text for thousands of images in just a few minutes, which saved me a lot of time compared to writing everything manually. AI descriptions are surprisingly accurate and understand the context of the image well. Setup was simple.
FAQ

Your questions, answered

Can't find what you need? Contact us →

How does the alt text stay in place if we stop using AltTextLab?

It stays because it isn't served from us. Through the native apps and the API, descriptions are written directly into your own CMS or source, so they remain in place whether or not you keep a subscription, and whatever tool you use next.

Can you sign a DPA and invoice against a purchase order?

Yes. A data processing agreement, purchase orders and invoicing are available for enterprise agreements. Get in touch and we'll work through your procurement requirements.

Does this make our organization ADA or WCAG compliant?

No, and you should be wary of any tool that claims it can. WCAG 2.1 AA covers contrast, keyboard access, structure, forms and much more. What AltTextLab does is close one of the most common findings, missing image descriptions, across your whole estate, in a form an auditor can verify in your source.

Can one account cover all our brands and sites?

Yes. One account covers unlimited domains, with credits pooled across the estate and no per-site fees. You can set a credit cap per site so each property can only use what you've allotted, which keeps spend predictable across a large web estate.

Can we integrate it with our DAM or custom stack?

Yes. Alongside the native apps for common platforms, the REST API generates alt text from your own code, so it can be wired into a digital asset manager, a headless build, or an internal publishing pipeline.

How does it handle a multilingual estate?

Descriptions can be generated in 130+ languages, and you can set the language per property, so regional sites are described in the language their audience actually reads.

What does enterprise pricing look like?

The same simple model as every plan: one credit per image, with no surcharge for format or volume tier. For an estate with many properties, pricing comes down to your total image count, plus a spend cap you set on each property so budget stays predictable across the whole account. Get in touch and we'll work through the numbers for your estate.
