E-commerce mode
E-commerce mode helps generate alt text that's ideal for online stores, product listings, and marketplaces. When this mode is active, the alt text focuses more on the product itself — making it clearer, more informative, and better suited for both customers and search engines.
When is e-commerce mode activated?
E-commerce Mode turns on automatically if your request includes at least one product-related field
product(e.g., "T-shirt")brand(e.g., "Acme Co.")color(e.g., "charcoal gray")material(e.g., "cotton")
You don't need to enable anything explicitly—just providing these fields is enough.
Why use it?
This mode ensures the generated alt text:
- Focuses on product-specific attributes like type, brand, color, and material
- Avoids excessive subjectivity or decorative language
- Produces output aligned with common e-commerce standards and platform requirements
- Supports SEO and improves accessibility for screen readers
How does it affect writing style?
When e-commerce mode is active, the selected writing style (e.g., "descriptive", "minimal", etc.) has lower priority in the generation process.
This is intentional: the goal is to maintain consistency and utility for product listings. For example, even if a more expressive style like "descriptive" is selected, the output will remain concise and focused on product attributes, rather than atmospheric or emotional descriptions.
This helps ensure alt text remains relevant, scannable, and compliant with best practices for online retail.
